In celebration of its 3rd anniversary, GUUD Pte Ltd demonstrated its commitment to social responsibility with a donation of $53,060 to the Children’s Cancer Foundation (CCF). The donation aims to provide essential resources and care for young childhood cancer survivors under the fundraising theme “Championing Hope for Children Cancer Warriors,” offering renewed strength and optimism to these resilient children as they confront their illnesses.
During the GUUD Day celebration, Mr. Desmond Tay, CEO and Founder, and Mr. Vesmond Wong, Chairman of GUUD Pte Ltd, jointly presented the cheque to Mr. Arthur Lim, Board Member & Chairman of the Community Partnerships Committee at Children’s Cancer Foundation. This symbolic gesture on GUUD Day underscores the company’s vision to ‘Trade for Good,’ emphasizing the transformative power that businesses hold in addressing societal challenges. Mr Desmond Tay expressed gratitude for the contributions of corporate donors like Merge0tr, BluTrust, and Dimerco, acknowledging their unwavering support for GUUD’s noble cause of assisting the underprivileged.
“The onset of cancer, particularly in a child, can be profoundly distressing and exacts a heavy toll on both caregivers and other family members. Through championing hope for these brave childhood cancer survivors, we hope to bring joy and some respite to them while they continue to battle this illness,” said Mr Desmond Tay, CEO and Founder of GUUD Pte Ltd.
The Children’s Cancer Foundation has been supporting children with cancer since 1999. CCF has assisted over 3,700 children and their families at various stages of illness and recovery. Their comprehensive support includes casework and counselling, financial assistance, caregivers support services, and sibling support services.
In addition to the monetary contribution, GUUD extends its assistance to CCF through volunteer work. Staff accompanied 30 beneficiaries and their siblings on an excursion at Changi Airport and fulfilled over 40 Christmas wishes from childhood cancer survivors. This impactful and humbling experience is made possible through collaborative teamwork and the dedicated volunteering efforts of GUUD’s staff, embodying the company’s commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of those in need.
